Ink Stamp Share : Men

Welcome back to our Ink, Stamp & Share Blog hop, joining myself here in Norfolk, UK and other fellow Demonstrator colleagues around the Globe.

This month our theme is 'Men'...….can't they just be so difficult to create for sometimes?

For my card today, I have revisited an old technique I have enjoyed creating for a long, long while.  For this 'Faux Metal' technique, I have used the new cogs featured in the Classic Garage bundle from the Spring Summer catalogue.  They are so gorgeous, I'm sure they will be featuring on some Mixed Media projects over the next few weeks, prepping for my 'One For The Men' class in April.

I love how this card turned out and am going to share with you how I achieved this technique.
Here I've assembled a few 'cogs', die-cut from Basic Black card, using the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies #148521

I'm sure every Avid crafter I know will have a few  unusual items their crafting stash !  One of mine is a cheap exfoliating massage bath sponge.  The rougher side I call my 'Aero effect' as the holes are larger and look like the holes in an Aero chocolate bar.
I often use this effect with inks for a delicate mottled effect but today have tapped the rough sponge on my Versamark ink pad and dabbed over the Black cogs.  Silver Embossing Powder  was then poured over, excess tapped off and then the powder melted using a Heat Tool.
Next it's time to repeat using Copper Embossing Powder. The holes on the sponge will randomly land in different places and so the Faux Metal effect will start to build.
Lastly, I've added a little bit of Black Embossing powder in the same way.

You can continue to add to these layers, changing the effect as you go, under you are happy with the results.
Here is my piece of exfoliating massage bath sponge with the finished piece
When my piece was finished, I needed to add something to the Whisper White layer on my card, before adhering to the Basic Black base card.  I decided to texture the edges of the Very Vanilla card in exactly the same way and was pleased with the outcome.

My sentiment is also from Geared Up Garage bundle, heated embossed in Silver and then die-cut using the car from the coordinating Thinlits.

I hope you have enjoyed my contribution today and that you will enjoy the rest of your 'hop' around the globe today, clicking on the 'next' button below to hop to Janey and see what amazing creations she has created to share with you today.

Papercrafting Blog Hop - Happy Birthday

Welcome back to another hop around the globe with my fellow Demonstrators sharing projects with a 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' theme.  You may be starting the hop with, me or just arrived from someone else along the way, but you won't want to miss anyone's inspiration, so I've listed everyone at the bottom of this post.

This week I'm sharing the Wonderful Romance Suite I am using in a class at the end of the month.  This is a truly gorgeous suite to use, here adapted from the Spring Summer catalogue card, keeping class samples 'under wraps' until after next weekend, but will be shared later.
The Soft Sea Foam base card has had the outer edge beautifully decorated with the lattice edge Die in the Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies.

The images have been stamped onto Soft Sea Foam card using Mossy Meadow ink and coloured in using an Aqua Painter and coordinating Fresh Fig and Petal pink ink pads, before die-cutting with the coordinating Wonderful Romance Thinlits Dies.

The Whisper White card liner has been stamped with the Birthday sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set, stamping 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation.

I am really looking forward to this class and hope you have enjoyed my card today and that  you enjoy the rest of your hop round the globe today.
