Alaska Achievers Blog Hop December 2017

Welcome back for another Alaska Achievers Monthly Blog Hop with fellow Demonstrators globally, who have also earned the prestigious Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip, that only a limited number around the world achieve.

We are continuing to hop together once a month, sharing with you ideas and designs using current Stampin' Up! products.  I live in a small village just outside Attleborough in Norfolk, UK and would love to help you if you have any questions, or enquiries about Craft Retreats in Norfolk, here at my Stamp & Craft Studio.

Today I'm sharing with your a project made as part of my team gifts this year.  This beautiful NEW Stamp & Die bundle Petal Palette #145785 (wood mount) #145788 (clear mount) is coming very soon on page 22/23 of the Spring / Summer 2018 catalogue.

Images were stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink #132708 (AC 2017-18, p200), die-cut with corresponding Petals & More Thinlits Dies #145655 and coloured with our NEW Stampin' Blends (SS 2018, p30/31).  Some elements have been raised using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals #144108 and additional die-cut elements using Old Olive cardstock #106576 and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper #135315.  Once complete, Fine-Tip Glue Pen #138309 was added and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter #133751.

Here are the first 14 complete but an additional 10 were then made for special friends and helpers.
Thank you for joining us today - we are all so happy that you are taking part in our blog hop.  Please grab a cuppa and continue 'hopping' round the globe, making sure that you don't miss anyone out, as you will see lots of incredible inspiration along your tour.  If you have time to add some comments too, they are always very welcome and much appreciated.

HALF FULL ~ Stamp Set

Welcome back for another card created recently, using the Half Full stamp set from Stampin' Up!

David is one of those unfortunate people who celebrates his birthday on Christmas Day.

Knowing how he loves his glass or two or vino, I couldn't help but use this set all over again.

I'm hoping you are loving this set as much as me.  Don't worry if you haven't bought yet.  This set will not be retiring at the end of December....... it is one of the lucky ones, rolling over into the Spring Summer 2018 catalogue.

If you haven't bought it already, make sure it's added to your first order in January to go towards earning a FREE Sale-A-Bration set during the 3-month promotion.

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas Day, celebrating with family and friends.

Pop back soon, there's lots going on !!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE

Happy Christmas Eve !!

For once I'm ahead of the game ........ everything's well underway, our dining table was fully laid this morning, complete with all the covered dishes for vegetables and accompaniments etc.  All the cooking timings have been worked backwards from serving time, so we both know what's being done when.

David's Auntie was collected from Manchester on Wednesday for her two-week holiday with us, plus we have invited another elderly couple of friends to join us for the big day itself.

Today I'm sharing the Christmas card I made for David ..... sadly, celebrating his birthday too on Christmas Day, life is always busy this time of year so his is usually one of the last to be made.

I fell in love with this card created and shared by Cheryl Lentz, WI, USA, on a Stampin' Up! Demo forum, commented on her post and CASED it (Copy And Share Everything).

Cheryl used the Half Full stamp set #144996 (wood mount) #144999 (clear mount) which was inspired by Million Sales Achiever Linda Bauwin.  A wonderful set that I'm sure will get used again shortly !

'Half Full' stamp set by Stampin' Up!

I wanted to purchase when I first saw in the catalogue but was concerned that I wouldn't have time to use before it 'retired' with the Autumn/Winter catalogue at the end of December.   I'm pleased to say this set is now rolling over into the Spring / Summer 2018 catalogue and so quickly made it into my shopping cart.

Hope you love this set as much as I do.  Pop back tomorrow to see a completely different look with this set for David's Birthday card.

ATTLEBOROUGH CRAFT FAIR

Yesterday, I attended a local Christmas Fair in Attleborough for the first time   Having had two requests on the same day, it's safe to say I will be booking the other event next year !!

Despite the venue being extremely cold (as door open all day), my main aim for the day was to advertise classes at my Stamp & Craft Studio about 3-miles away.

As always at these type of events, I have to keep busy to make my time there productive, whilst chatting to potential customers and other stall holders.

I took along some pre-embossed acetate boxes with envelopes inside, card bases, scraps, retired hat punch, sentiment and ink, to create some more of these card designs, we made for Ronald McDonald House Charities last weekend.  One lady watched me finish the first batch to purchase and then ordered another to collect on her way out.  She spent so long chatting to myself and neighbouring stall holder, I was finished these very quick cards before she moved on.

I hope you like the simplicity of these cards.  My husband loves clean and simple cards and these were ideal for RMHC projects.

FINAL COUNT ~ CHARITY CARDS

WOW, what a fabulous weekend !!

Last night Val and I had a final count of the weekends charity cards, packing in boxes with envelopes as we went.

I'm so proud of everyone who came helped over our 3-day charity weekend.  Together we have created 1045 cards for Stampin' Up! UK Christmas Cheer Challenge, donating to Ronald McDonald House Charities.

1045 Charity cards for Ronald McDonald House Charities
Another big thank you to Helen for suggesting using www.ipostparcels.com to despatch.  I managed to reduce cost from over £40 with Royal Mail, to just under £15 with www.ipostparcels.com. Thank you so much for introducing me to a service I'm sure I will be using again in the near future.

Day 3 (Sunday) and we continued to create even more cards for Ronald McDonald House Charities.  With lots of people popping in and out during the day, our final count boxing up our Christmas Cheer Challenge cards ready to post, was a fabulous 1045 !

Thanks to fellow team and another local demo who joined us over our 3-Day Challenge, Rebecca Chivers, Jacqui Lawrence, Sandra Bryson Hill, Julie Taylor, Tanya Pratt, Jane Scudamore.

Also special thanks to a former team member Pat, who sadly had to give up crafting due to illness.  She kindly donated retired card stock and adhesives for CCC.

Thanks to everyone who helped achieve this fantastic result.

Alaska Achievers Blog Hop November 2017

Welcome to our latest Alaska Achievers Monthly Blog Hop, with fellow Demonstrators who have also earned the prestigious Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip, that only a limited number around the world achieve.

We will be hopping together every month to show you ideas and designs using current Stampin' Up! products.  I live in a small village just outside Attleborough in Norfolk, UK and would love to help you if you have any questions.

Today I'm sharing some gift wrapping ideas I have made in the last few days.  When you realise the photo of one of your projects gifted over the weekend didn't save, after the moment of sheer panic ..... you rustle up another one, very quickly, before the Blop Hop commences !!!

I'm loving the Merry Music Speciality Designer Series Paper #144623, with its fabulous 24 sheets of lightweight paper, you have twice as much to complete your projects with !

I have previously enjoyed making boxes for Terrys Chocolate Oranges every year, but was thrilled to discover this design to share with my class.  Crafters always love trying different box ideas and this one was featured at my Festive Envelope Punch Board #133774 class at the weekend and contains a Terrys Chocolate Orange, but is so versatile for any small gift.

Gifting a bottle of wine is always nicer when you can create nicely decorated packaging.

With some beer mats requested from one of my regular customers for another project, I have been using the remainder on other projects.  Sponging the edges of a circular beer mat along a Basic Black Archival ink pad #140931 and covering with two circles of Basic Black card to the same size, was the perfect fit for the base to stand on.

Thank you for joining us today - we are all so happy that you are taking part in our blog hop.  Please grab a cuppa and continue 'hopping' round the globe, viewing all the incredible inspiration along your tour.  If you have time to add some comments too, they are always very welcome.

CHRISTMAS CHEER CHALLENGE - Preparation Time for 1st-3rd December

Today I've been doing some more preparation for Stampin' Up! #christmascheerchallenge next weekend.

Demonstrators, their customers, friends and families, have been challenged to make 20,000 Christmas cards in just one weekend 1st, 2nd and 3rd December.

Here are my helpers today, two of my regular customers plus one of the Mum's, who have experienced first hand the fantastic work that Ronald McDonald House Charities do to keep families close with their sick children.  Unable to support this weekends events, they wanted to give their time to help this challenge.

Lots of cutting, scoring and punching of retired hats going on in this photo.

Some of my team are having a sleepover at the Studio this weekend and I'm sure we will be crafting into the 'wee small hours', with a bottle or two of Prosecco, to help us reach our goal !

If you are able to support us this weekend, I would love to see you at my Stamp & Craft Studio in Great Ellingham and make a few cards ~ no experience necessary as there is something for everyone to do to help.

Happy craftin'

I'VE BEEN PUBLISHED !!!!!

This has certainly been a very special year for me, with many new and wonderful experiences and achievements ..... and it's not over yet !

Today I'm able to share with you my very first publication in a craft magazine that has gone on sale in the shops today !!  Back in the summer I was asked by Stampin' Up! UK if I could undertake a detailed brief from Papercraft Inspirations magazine, as Charlotte Harding, our European Product Specialist was just commencing Annual Leave and unable to complete.

I was thrilled to be asked by the UK team to step in to Charlotte's shoes !  Charlotte had asked that I use the 'At Home With You' stamp and die bundle #145351, and was also sent the 'Be Merry' product suite to incorporate into the projects.

I hope you can pop back soon to see more details on the projects I compiled for the article.

PAPERCRAFT INSPIRATION

What a lovely surprise to receive my copy of Papercraft Inspirations in the post this morning, ahead of the release on sale in the shops on 2nd November.

A snapshot of what's to come on the front cover

My article has covered two double-page spreads, plus a half page, and also featured snapshot photos on the front cover and one of the inside summary pages.

Some of the magazine designers then created similar projects using my Stampin' Up! products sent for the photos to be taken, together with their own 'craft stash'.

I'm so pleased with the article and photos they have published around my submission.  I will pop some up photos of projects over the next few days.

Alaska Achievers Blog Hop October 2017

Having achieved my very first Stampin' Up! Incentive trip last month, I'm reliving that excitement all over again, taking part in the first Alaska Achievers Monthly Blog Hop with fellow Demonstrators, who have also earned the prestigious Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip, that only a limited number around the world achieve.

We will be hopping together once a month to show you ideas and designs using current Stampin' Up! products.  I live in the UK and would love to help you if you have any questions.

I look forward to regular crafting sessions with my Downline team, whether it be 1:2:1 sessions or collectively at team meetings.  My team are encouraged to make samples using my products, especially in their early days, whilst still building their Stampin' Up! supplies.   It's really nice when occasionally the roles are reversed and I can use a bundle that I do not have.

Today I'm sharing with you some projects Alison and I enjoyed creating with her new Brightly Lit bundle #146040, CAS-ing a few cards from online inspiration.

This was our trio for the day, which I tried to keep to a colour theme, but also have the pieces prepared to complete one of these in Real Red, Garden Green and Soft Suede too, which I will post tomorrow.

The Foil Snowflakes #144642 are proving to be popular and I like the way they can be cut for smaller elements.
The presents are really sweet and might look fiddly, but the Photopolymer stamps make it quite easy to line up the ribbon on the parcel.

More presents on this card too but this time using the rounded lamps, with a circle of Champagne Foil Sheets #144748, torn snow banks, topped with Fine-Tip Glue Pen #138309 and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter #133751

Thank you for joining us today - we are all so happy that you are taking part in our blog hop.  Please grab a cuppa and continue 'hopping' round the globe, making sure that you don't miss anyone out as you will see lots of incredible inspiration along your tour.  If you have time to add some comments too, they are always very welcome.
