NETWORKING DAY

Hi
Had a fabulous (if rather cold) Networking day today in Thetford.

Photos show the last few extra 'Ad-packs' having chocolates packed, ready to hand out to prospective new customers, advertising NEW classes in Thetford.

Although Craft Fair was fully booked, I was kindly allowed to distribute advertising, free of charge.  Also, Networking with organisers and other stall holders, further ideas are being discussed.

Enjoying a well deserved glass or three of Prosecco !

Well done England, what an exciting finish 👍

Happy craftin'

Sandra

FREE TUTORIAL

Welcome back and Happy Sunday to you all.

Yesterday, I promised to write a Tutorial measurements of the simple double-walled box I featured in yesterday's Crafty Inklings Blog Hop.

You will need two pieces of A4 card, one for the box base and one for the lid.

BOX BASE

1.  Cut the base to 24.5cm x 20cm.
2.  Score at 1.9 cm on all four sides, as it needs to be slightly under the next score line.
3.  Score again at 4cm on all four sides.
4.  Burnish all scored edges with a bone folder.
5.  Snip out corners as shown in photo.
6.  Apply adhesive to the back of corner squares and tuck in to form a box base.
7.  Once all four corners are built, gently test the outer edges fit inside the box, to create a double wall.  I like to test one then glue inside.  Next do the opposite side, then repeat on the two remaining opposite sides.

BOX LID

It might seem strange that the lid is smaller.  This is intentional as the sides will be scored smaller to allow for both coordinating colours to be seen.

1.  Cut the lid to 22.8 x 18.3cm.
2.  Score at 1.4 cm on all four sides, as it needs to be slightly under the next score line.
3.  Score again at 3cm on all four sides.
4.  Continue as above to complete lid.

DECORATE AS YOU WISH

1.  Now simply decorate as you wish.
2.  My ribbon was attached to the lid and decoration applied over the top. This was so it remain with the box and foes the drop on floor when recipient opens !

CRAFTY INKLINGS 1st BLOG HOP

Welcome to our first Crafty Inklings Blog hop, which is scheduled to link up at 9am this morning.

We are a group of fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from Norfolk, Suffolk and a bit beyond, who regularly get together for team events here at my Stamp & Craft Studio.  Today we are sharing projects made from the Spring / Summer and/or Sale-A-Bration catalogues !!!!

Depending on where you have started from today, you may have just joined me from Rebecca @ bextiesandstickytape and enjoyed her gorgeous projects.

As Demonstrators, we are privileged to see new products being launched ahead of their release. I immediately fell in love with the 'Falling In Love' Designer Series Papers #142788 and 'Falling Petals' Textured Impressions Embossing Folder #142761,

This decorative box was created to fit a sample of cards, featuring these products.  I wanted the sides to show the two-tone effect of base and lid, as card colours co-ordinate nicely with this selection of papers.

Pop back tomorrow, when I will be sharing my tutorial for the box, a very versatile size to fit standard A6 size cards and envelopes, for a lovely gift idea.

hope you have enjoyed the projects I have shared with you today.  It's now time to continue your 'hop' by following link to Michelle's blog Stampin' and the City.

I'm sharing the whole group here, in case any of the links don't quite work :-

SINCERELY YOURS CRAFT SHOW @ THETFORD

It was lovely to catch up with so many crafters yesterday at the Sincerely Yours Craft show in Thetford.

I have to pass on my huge thanks to Cheryl, one of my downline team who was joining us for the first time.  She holds classes in Burwell and Newmarket area, so please pass on to any crafting friends or family in the area.  She made an excellent job of creating those beautiful Hexagon Window boxes on display.

Then of course thanks to our lovely Val, who helped everyone with their Make & Takes all day. Such a wonderful lady, my unofficial 'adopted' Mum, who loves meeting people.

Over 100 of ou entered our FREE Prize Draw.  The lucky winner, drawn by our neighbouring stall holder, was Linda from Wymondham, who can look forward to having her prize delivered over the next few days.

Don't forget to add Sunday 3rd September in our diaries for the Sincerely Yours Autumn show.  See you there with a lovely display of Festive projects from NEW Annual and Autumn/Winter catalogues.

Cheryl and Val ready for the doors to open

Our Make and Take table busy and others patiently waiting to go next.

TEAM SHOEBOX SWAP

Following our Christmas team meal last night, we had 6 stay for a fun sleep-over !

Today, we held our first team shoebox swap of 2017, with 9 taking part in person and a further 3 joining us by post, plus an extra set made for a last minute 'elderly parent nursing' cancellation.   Last years bi-monthly shoebox swaps were held in the evening, which we found restricted some of the team from joining in.  All those who took part in our first 'all day' event, had a lovely day and lovely forward to the next one in May.

Our swap theme this month was 'Sale-A-Bration' and this is the swap I prepared kits for fellow Demonstrator team to make, highlighting the Avant Garden stamp set #143272.

Remember that Sale-A-Bration is running until 31st March with every £45 spent, earning a FREE Sale-A-Bration product.  Such a fabulous time of the year. Please follow link below to my Online Shop to place an order and view catalogues. You can also click on the catalogue images at the right hand side of this blog.

Hi

Are you a Wimbledon fan ?  Do you like a nice Strawberry Cream Tea ?  Do you love crafting ?

Last year I wanted to schedule a Strawberry Cream Tea  & Craft at my Studio, but life's events got in the way.  So, when I saw the Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper #141660, I knew this would be the year if definitely happened !!

Here are some strawberry themed projects I've just finished making to display at the Sincerely Yours Craft Show tomorrow, using these delightful Designer Series Papers, taking inspiration from other Demonstrators online and adding my own style.

If you would like to know more, then please feel free to get in touch :-)

CRAFTING WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS

Morning

I know it's only been 4 days away but it's amazing how us crafters miss getting inky fingers and creating something 😉

Julie and I had an amazing time on the Magellan, visiting Amsterdam and Antwerp. Part of our break included staying over the night before so, cruising from Tilbury, we 'had' to spend some time doing some 'retail therapy' at Lakeside before or trip. Yes, slightly mad contemplating a major shopping centre and retail outlet business park, the last Saturday before Christmas, but it had to be done !!!  Nothing worse than risking getting delayed in traffic jams, parking issues etc and risk missing our sailing.
