Ink & Share Blog Hop : Anything But A Card

Welcome to another Ink & Share Blog Hop.  Todays theme is 'Anything But A Card'.  Much as I love making cards, I really enjoy making 3D and Home Décor projects, so was excited about todays hop.

You join me here in Norfolk, UK and my project today was partly inspired by Amy Combs whom I met on the Stampin' Up! Alaskan Cruise Incentive Trip recently.  She was one of the lucky attendees who had received some 'new' products from the Autumn/Winter catalogue and created projects for the 'Share Fair' on the ship.    I say 'partly' because I have used here banner idea but changed everything, except the dies used for the ovals and letters !

All the base panels were cut twice to 14.85 x 10.5cm, a standard size in the UK for card bases.  The 2nd piece neatly enclosed the ribbon on the reverse at the end of the project, whilst adding a bit of strength too.  I added an extra mat layer in Whisper White and then DSP layers were cut using the Joyous Noel Speciality Designer Series Papers #147816. Because of all the beautiful copper foil details on these papers, I have left this one quite plain and simple but have plans to use another of our suites and include more detail.

The scalloped ovals used the Layering Ovals Framelits #141706 and the Whisper White layer used the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits #145372.  The stars from Christmas Pines #142049 were stamped in Versamark #102283, covered in Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder #141636 and used Heat Tool #129054 to set, just to pick out some more of that copper in the papers.

All letters were cut in Copper from the new Joyous Noel 6" x 6" Glimmer Paper #147817, using the Large Letters Framelits #141712.  This alphabet Die set has such a wide variety of uses and is one I will never part with.
The base panels for 'N' were Merry Merlot card #147005.
The base panels for 'O' were Gray Granite card #147008.
The base panels for 'E' were Sahara Sand card #121695.
Finally, the base panels for 'L' were Tranquil Tide card #146948.

And I nearly forgot, they were all strung together on that gorgeous new Merry Merlot & Copper 5/8" Reversible Ribbon #147818.  I think I'm going to be getting through quite a bit of that !

  5. That is such a fun idea! I love projects that are thinking outside of the "card". I usually only make cards, because I can't ever seem to get creative enough to make anything else! TFS!
