CASE Challenge 8 - Reflection Technique

Today we're back again for another CASE Challenge with my Demonstrator friends Emma and Becki.

Week 8 on the CASE challenge is a reflection technique, inspired by the amazing Michelle Zindorf.  She is an extremely talented crafter and I really admire her work.  You can find her blog  HERE.
For my project today, the nearest stamp I had to this project was the oak tree from Lovely As A Tree #128655 (W) #127793 (C).  I have the wood mount style so couldn't use my Stamparatus on this occasion.  Instead, I inked up tree image using Early Espresso, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow markers, using a 'Thumping' technique.
I then stamped image down onto a Silicon Craft Sheet #127853.  I pressed my card on top of the image and pressed really well to pick up the inked image.  I then reinked my stamp again using the markers as before, and with the help of my retired Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to position my wood stamp directly opposite as a reflection.

I used the rough end of a bath sponge to 'swipe' the blue ink across the feinter image and then again with some clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush #141897 to add some shine to the water effect.

My sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings #146664 (W) #146667 (C) and added a Leaf Punch #144667 under the sentiment flag.  The 3/8" Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon #144213 was wrapped before all the layers were stuck together, tying off with a knot to the side.

That's all from me today but before you go, take a quick hop over to Becki HERE and then on to Emma HERE and see their take on the reflection challenge.

Next week we will be creating our inspiration from one of our German colleagues, you can see Andrea's blog HERE.
Pop back next Monday to see our creations inspired by Andrea and also find out who is chosen as our spotlight designer for the following week.
If you would like to join in this challenge, feel free to CASE Andrea's gift bags, take a photo, which you can email me or upload to my Sandra's Stamp & Craft Studio Facebook page. I can't wait to see all the different versions we create together.  We’ll share the photos we receive in next Monday’s post.

Happy craftin'

Sandra

  1. I love this, Sandra! That tree is such a beautiful stamp... One of the first sets I got from Stampin' Up!, and I still use it time and time again.
