Gift Bag Tutorial

Hello and welcome back.  As promised yesterday on my CASE Challenge post with Demonstrator friends Emma and Becki, I am sharing my tutorial how to make the little gift bags I featured.
I deliberately made mine using a hole sheet of A4 card, no messing about or cutting to start with, so it really is very quick to create.
Firstly, you will be scoring the black lines in my diagram above.  With the short side at the top, score at 5cms and 16cms.

Turn, and with long sides at the top, score at 2cm and 12.5cm from each end.

The two tram lines through the middle, you need to measure 5cm from the score lines and place a pencil dot, as indicated in green ink on my chart.  You will need to score from this pencil mark, to the corner of the base panel, as indicated above.

Burnish all edges to create nice crisp folds, using your Bone Folder #102300.
Place Tombow Adhesive #110755 on the panels as indicated above, turning in as the arrows show.  I would do one at a time.  Again use your bone folder to press down firmly over the glued area.
To decorate your gift bag, you will need TWO pieces 10cmx10.5cm and TWO pieces 4.5cmx4.5cm.  When cutting please make sure the pattern is going in the correct direction.

At this point, you can decorate and store flat until required.  Just remember to check when adding Designer Series Paper with one direction, that they are facing the correct direction !

The centre 'box' will now open up with the triangular areas backing onto the front and back of your box.

The narrow strips at the top will now form your handle.  Grip together and pierce two holes equal distance from the ends.  Add ribbon through one and back through the other and tie to fasten.  Create a tag of your choice and this can be add before tying a bow.
I hope this tutorial will encourage you to create a few quick and easy gift bags for your festive gifts.  The measurements can easily be adjusted for a 12"x12" scrapbook size card, to make bigger.  If you would like me to do another tutorial with these measurements for you, please leave comments below.

With my first Retreat in just two weeks and two more in November, its a very busy time at the Studio, getting everything ready for my ladies to come and chill for a whole  weekend.

Bye for now, hope to see you back again soon to see what other projects I've been creating to share with you.

Happy craftin'
